An essential feature of a Community Interest Company is that its activities must be for the benefit of the community. Territory Mapping CIC has defined its community as any organisation in the Third Sector (charities, social enterprises, voluntary services organisation or voluntary community organisation). Our planned activity is to deliver business planning training to directors and senior managers within our chosen community as part of our commitment to them.
What is a Community Interest Company?
Community interest companies (CIC) are a new type of limited company designed specifically for those wishing to operate for the benefit of the community rather than for the benefit of the owners of the company. This means that a CIC cannot be formed or used solely for the personal gain of a particular person, or group of people.
